Dear Families of Milwaukee Catholic Home Residents,

This afternoon we received the final COVID-19 test results from the state contracted laboratory. All residents at Milwaukee Catholic Home (independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care) were tested on May 22nd. Those test results showed 3 positive cases located on our Special Care Unit located on the east wing of the 2nd floor in the Health Care Center. The remaining 215 residents on campus tested negative. The total number of residents testing positive is 5, all located on the Special Care Unit.

In addition to testing all the residents we have tested a majority of staff members campus wide. As of this evening, 163 individuals have been tested. There were two positive tests with 161 employees testing negative. To date there have been at total of 3 staff members that have tested positive. We will continue to test the remaining staff members over the coming days.

The Special Care Unit remains in isolation with staff wearing full personal protective equipment (PPE) and working only on that unit. We continue to screen all employees and essential personnel prior to their shift or when entering the building by using a health questionnaire and by taking their temperature. All staff continue to wear masks during their entire shift. All residents on campus are required to wear masks. While this may be difficult for some, it is essential to reduce the chances of spreading the virus if someone is not symptomatic.

The City of Milwaukee Public Health Department will determine when the virus has been contained and isolation precautions are released.

We will be providing regular communication with you in a transparent and timely manner.
