MCH COVID-19 VIRUS UPDATE-April 21st

May 24, 2020 | Leadership, What's New

April 21, 2020

Dear Families, Residents, and Staff of Milwaukee Catholic Home,

As I have promised, Milwaukee Catholic Home would proactively notify you if any staff or resident tested positive for COVID-19. This afternoon, I learned that a staff member who has been and continues to be on extended leave (more than 28 days) has tested positive for COVID-19. Because of the extended period away from MCH, there is no indication that the staff member had exposed any residents or staff while previously working on campus. Late this afternoon, I did confirm with our Director of Nursing that there are no residents on the entire MCH campus with reported respiratory or related symptoms that would indicate COVID-19.

Please be assured we have been and will continue to take measures that keep your loved ones and our team members that work at Milwaukee Catholic Home safe. We continue to screen all employees and essential personnel prior to their shift or when entering the building by using a health questionnaire and by taking their temperature. All staff continue to wear masks during their entire shift. We are also conducting frequent additional training on infection control topics such as hand washing and proper use of personal protective equipment. We feel these measures have been successful in keeping everybody safe.

Please keep this staff member in your prayers for continued recovery and good health. The staff member will not return to work until all Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines are met. I will keep you all updated if there are any changes. Please know that I will continue to proactively communicate with you in a transparent and timely manner.

As always, thank you for your trust and support of our efforts!

Sincerely,

Dave Fulcher
