The spirit of Milwaukee Catholic Home isn’t limited to our main campus on Prospect Avenue. Our mission is alive and thriving throughout the greater Milwaukee area, in the form of our management and operational agreements with Catholic organizations such as the The Franciscan Friars of the Assumption BVM Province, The Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, and the School Sisters of Notre Dame of Central Pacific Province.

But in 2020, the presence of our unique community will once again have an opportunity to span across an ocean.

Following the successful past pilgrimages to Italy and Poland, Milwaukee Catholic Home is pleased to announce that another overseas adventure. “The Heart and Soul of Ireland” tour, taking place in April 2020, will give us a special glimpse of a unique part of the world, with a wonderful mix of history, ancient ruins, stunning panoramic views, legendary castles and moats, and romantic and rugged regions of lakes and bogs.

Highlights of this pilgrimage include a celebration of Mass at the Chapel of the Apparition in Knock, an excursion to the incomparably beautiful Aran Islands, visits to the Cliffs of Moher and the Ring of Kerry and exploring Ireland’s lively capital city of Dublin.

While this trip, led by Fr. Jerry Herda, will surely introduce friends of Milwaukee Catholic Home to the wonders of the Emerald Isle, this pilgrimage is primarily a chance to celebrate our Catholic faith and form deeper bonds with one another.

The Heart and Soul of Ireland tour is an exciting way for friends of MCH to experience the unparalleled hospitality and the lively happy nature of the Irish people. “says Linda Cardinale, Director of Marketing at Milwaukee Catholic Home and one of the pilgrimage hosts. “Combine that with opportunities to practice our faith in sacred spaces throughout Ireland, and I guarantee we will have memorable experiences to cherish.”

The “Heart and Soul of Ireland” pilgrimage is a signature event of Milwaukee Catholic Home’s “A Life Engaged” program.  Introduced in January 2019, “A Life Engaged” enables people to be engaged in something bigger than themselves in meaningful, joy-filled, and consistent ways. Activities and events made possible through “A Life Engaged” give residents, staff, friends, and guests of Milwaukee Catholic Home a sense of belonging and purpose, no matter where an individual is in their life’s journey.

Ireland will take your breath away, and we do hope you will consider joining us! Learn more about this unforgettable experience here
