Visit from MU President Dr. Michael Lovell

Aug 6, 2014 | What's New

On August 12th, Milwaukee Catholic Home was honored to host Dr. Michael Lovell, the new president of Marquette University, for a special Mass and reception. Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Chuck Keefe, our chaplain, and Fr. Tom Anderson, SJ, Assistant Director of Campus Ministry at Marquette and son of MCH residents Tom and Kay Anderson.

At the reception, Dr. Lovell was introduced by MCH resident Paul Salsini, who taught for many years at Marquette in the College of Communications.  Dr. Salsini emphasized Dr. Lovell’s accomplishments and the enthusiasm with which the Marquette community is embracing his new vision and leadership for the university.

Dr. Lovell then spoke a few words, emphasizing the fact that Marquette University has welcomed him as a family, and that he observes the same spirit of family at Milwaukee Catholic Home.  He expressed his gratitude for the time spent with us and a shared enthusiasm for the future.

MCH looks forward to continued strengthening of our connection with Marquette University. MCH was founded in 1913 by members of the Marquette Women’s League, and we have many MU alumni and emeritus faculty among among our residents and staff.  We’re also excited to continue ongoing conversations about concrete ways we might partner with MU in the future.
